Twin Mountain via Kuma

Leave Accra at 09:00 AM and drive for about 4- 5 hours to the Tagbo Waterfalls Lodge in Liate Wote, where we check in for the weekend.

We have lunch at 02:00 pm.

At 03:00 PM we hike to the Tagbo Falls. An hour hike, a relatively straight 4.5km trail. If you like you can go for a swim. And head then walk back another hour.

At 07:45 PM we have dinner.

We will have an early breakfast at 06:00 am so that we can start the hike latest at 06:30 AM.

The trail will lead us through some farmland and then steep up through rain forest to a path that runs along the ridge and often crosses into Togo and back. We hike over Kuma a small village in Togo. Visit the castle, rest, and eat our snacks. Total hiking duration is about 4 - 6 hours and you need to be reasonably fit and sure-footed for this.

At 02:00 PM we have lunch. Relax a bit and those who want to can visit the village.

Dinner at 07:45 PM.

On Sunday you have two options. You can either hike to the summit of Mount Afadjato or take a tour of the base of Wli Falls.

The Afadjato group will get up early again and after a cup of coffee we leave for the summit of Mount Afadzato at around 05:30. It takes us about 90 minutes to reach the summit of Ghana’s highest mountain. The trail to the summit is partly quite steep, but we are not racing but rather hiking at a relaxed pace.

After a good break at the summit, we return to the lodge for a shower and some nice breakfast.

The Wli Waterfalls group can sleep a bit longer. At 07:00 is breakfast and after breakfast, they will take the bus over to the Wli Falls where they can visit the lower falls. That is a short hike of about 45 minutes in flat terrain and on trail and the hike back is again about 45 minutes.

We all meet up at the lodge and start packing, have lunch at 12:00 PM, and get ready for the drive back to Accra at 01:00 PM.
